American Idol Week 1 Robbie Carrico

Robbie Carrico had a pretty good night on the Week 1 American Idol competition. Robbie Carrico song went over well with Randy, Paula and Simon. We'll have to wait until Thursday to see how it went over with the American Idol Watchers.

Simon said that Robbie Carrico's song was the best of the night up to that point. The first night of competition didn't go well for many of the American Idol hopefuls.

Even Randy and Paula enjoyed Robbie Carrico's performance. Having all three judges like your performance can give you quite a boost of confidence.

I personally think Robbie Carrico is safe in the upcoming vote. However the Simon's only critisism was that he didn't think Robbie was a Rocker.

I'd have to agree with that point, especially knowing that he came from a boy band that once opened for Brittney Spears.

He may say he's a rocker and halfway look the part, but I believe there is more Pop music in Robbie Carrico than he's willing to admit. Just look at his song performance tonight...poppish

But that's whay American Idol viewers like and that's what Robbie Carrico will give them!

Is Robbie Carrico Really Good Enough For American Idol?

Is Robbie Carrico Really Good Enough For American Idol?

Robbie Carrico is a very gifted artist, but is he really good enough for the American Idol Top 12? Viewers, not judges, will determine whether or not Robbie Carrico is good enough to make American Idol's Top 12.

Things Robbie Carrico Will Have To Do

Robbie Carrico will have to sing and perform songs like never before to stay on top. Song selection is critical and choosing the wrong song will send Robbie Carrico home from the American Idol competition.

Not only is the song selection very important for him, but Robbie Carrico will have to be at her best. As there are only a few true amateurs in the Top 24, this will make it harder for Robbie Carrico to reach the top 12.

Everybody knows by now that most of the Top 24 American Idol competitors have had either previous recording contracts or professional experience. This is something Robbie Carrico as well as the other American Idol contenders will have to deal with.

What about the American Idol judges?

Now that they're in the weekly competition, the Judges decision will not affect Robbie Carrico as much as in previous shows when Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell had the final decision. No, the judges will critique Robbie Carrico but it will be the American Idol viewers who have the final say in whether or not Robbie Carrico stays or goes.

Does Looks Hurt or Help Robbie Carrico?

Let's face it, Robbie Carrico is one of the better looking competitors this year on American Idol. Whether we like it or not, looks matter and this is an advantage for Robbie Carrico. Not only do looks count, but the wardrobe selection also matters, again, Robbie Carrico has shown style and class when choosing what to, or what not, to wear on stage.

Not only do looks count, but stage presence also counts and this is another positive that Robbie Carrico has. Robbie Carrico commands the stage and is entertaining to watch move around the stage. Interacting with the audience is another area where Robbie Carrico shines. Viewers like seeing performers interacting with the crowds.

What, If Any, Changes Should Robbie Carrico Make?

It's no secret that the American Idol Judges do not like to see competitors perform easy songs. They want the performers stretch their musical limits. This may be one area where Robbie Carrico does not have an edge. Robbie Carrico will have to resist the temptation so choose easy songs and pick hard songs that will not only impress the judges, but the Viewers as well.

Since there's been 6 years of American Idol so far, Robbie Carrico or the other competitors should not have a problem choosing songs. They should know what the viewers and judges like.

Another area that Robbie Carrico needs to stay away from is trying to sound like a famous performer. We've seen many American Idol competitors go down because they tried to be like someone else other than their self. Let's watch and see who makes this mistake this year.

Also, Robbie Carrico will want to watch what she says during interviews each week. We all know the camera looks for weeknesses. Robbie Carrico doesn't want to be seen appearing week or over confident. Both turn off Judges and TV watchers. There have been several times in the past that American Idol viewers were turned off by competitors appearing whining or cocky. Robbie Carrico will have to avoid making either of these mistakes.

Robbie Carrico Will Need Help From Other American Idol Competitors

Just selecting the right song, wearing the right clothes and having a perfect performance may not be enough for Robbie Carrico. Robbie Carrico will need help from other American Idol competitors as well. This means that at least one contestant will have to have poor song selection or have a poor performance for Robbie Carrico to make it to the American Idol top 12.

This will be true all the way to the end. As long as viewers dislike one other contestant more than they dislike Robbie Carrico, there'll be a spot in the Top 12 waiting.

What Impact Will The American Idol Judges Have?

If history is any indication, the American Idol Judges criticism will have little effect on whether or not Robbie Carrico makes it into the top 12. In the past, Simon, Paul and Randy have critisized competitors who made it all the way to the end. Although Robbie Carrico may have feelings that get hurt by bad comments from the Judges, it will be the viewers who ultimately decide on whether or not Robbie Carrico makes it into the American Idol Top 12. For example, last year Taylor Hicks was critisized several times by Simon as being nothing more than a lounge singer, yet viewers ultimately chose him as the American Idol for Season 6. Robbie Carrico will need to make sure the crowds are pleased, not the Judges.

What Do The American Idol Viewers Like?

American Idol is really about contemporary Pop music. That is the most popular music played today and that's where the money is and American Idol knows this. This is why country singers, Blues and Rock singers have all had a hard time making it into the Top 12. They're trying to sing songs that they are not familiar or comfortable with. I believe Chris Daughtery is a fine example. He probably made it further than any other Non-Pop singer and by all rights, was by far the best of all of Season 6 competitors. So how did Taylor Hicks win? Because he had a better stage performance than Chris and could sing popular songs while doing it. Look at where Chris is now at the top of the charts. It's been stated that Taylor Hicks has just lost his contract. If Robbie Carrico wants to make it to the top, song selection and stage performance had better please the younger Pop loving generation.

All in all, Robbie Carrico has a pretty good chance of making American Idol's Top 12. If you're a fan of Robbie Carrico, you need to get on the phone each week and vote to make sure it happens. Only time will tell whether or not Robbie Carrico is in the Top 12.

Robbie Carrico | Top 24 American Idol

Robbie Carrico | Top 24 American Idol

Robbie Carrico made the cut to advance in American Idol's Season 7 competition. Robbie Carrico was a fan favorite and he easily won his spot in the Top 24 American Idol list.

The next stage for Robbie Carrico and other American Idol hopefuls is the elimination rounds leading up to the Top 12. No one doubts that Robbie Carrico has what it takes to make the American Idol top 12. All that stands in the way is an off night or poor song choice, or perhaps even a bad night by the judges.

Robbie Carrico certainly has a bank of songs to choose from. However, as we've seen in the past, some contestants do a poor job of choosing songs and this could be Robbie Carrico's downfall on the American Idol stage.

The smooth yet powerful voice will help, no doubt. And let’s face it. There have been performers in the past who’ve made if very far that wasn’t as talented as Robbie Carrico. But we all know that sometimes it’s not the most talented that go on to the final 12 in American Idol, sometimes it’s nothing more than a local favorite getting their hometown (or home state or home country…read Sanjiya) to vote for them.

Robbie Carrico has the looks, talent and ambition to make it to the Top 3 in the American Idol competition, the only question mark at this time is can it be done with a fickle crowd and can the song choices and performances go off without a hitch?

Who knows? We’ll just have to turn in and watch American Idol every week and cross our fingers that Robbie Carrico can wow the fans of American Idol.

Robbie Carrico

Robbie Carrico

Robbie Carrico is a American Idol hopeful that auditioned at the Miami auditions. Robbie Carrico lives in Melbourne Florida and was once part of a Boys band called "Boyz and Girlz United".

Robbie says his musical influences are Jonathan Davis, Brett (shine down), Rob Thomas.

It is rumored that Robbie Carrico dated Britney Spear at one time. Robbie's boy band did do a few openings for Britney on a European tour, but I'm not quite sure I'd put that on my resume these days!

While I'm thinking about it, what's up with the Gangsta style? Is Robbie trying to set fashion trends for over privliged White Guys?

Robbie Carrico's music is now Rock and I thought his first audition was pretty good. I look for Robbie Carrico to go quite a ways on American Idol.
